China plans to have hog production back up to normal by the end of next year.

According to a government status report issued this week, 41 per cent of the nation’s hog population has been lost since the outbreak of African Swine Fever last year.

Other estimate the losses have been as high as 60 per cent.

As part of the recovery plan, China said subsidies for large-scale production units must be approved on time site permits must be simplified.
