Wayne Hall works behind the counter on the frontline fight against Covid-19.
Hall has been a pharmacist at Gourlay’s Clinic Pharmacy in Canmore for the last five years.
Hall graduated from Pharmacy at the University of Alberta in 1977 and went into business and owned his own pharmacy for almost 15 years before selling and moving to Canmore in 1992. He’s lived in Canmore ever since with his wife, Joanne Danyluk-Hall, and their sons, Evan and Connor.
“I was a stay at home dad for three to four years when we moved to Canmore as my boys were only two and four years of age and I wanted to spend time with them and my wife,” Hall said. “I worked long hours when I had my business and it was taking a toll on family life. I kept the fact that I was a pharmacist secret when I moved here as pharmacists were in great demand and everyone was always after you to work for them.”
But he soon went back to work.
“When I finally came out of hiding, I pursued employment and I have worked as a staff pharmacist at Mironuck’s IDA, pharmacy Manager at Safeway and pharmacy Manager at Rexall,” Hall said. “As a pharmacist, we work in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide safe, patient centred health care that promotes health and quality of life.”p
