Martin Finnerty is all about ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’
Finnerty has been a production technician for many plays and performances in the Bow Valley for decades and at times, he makes a rare appearance in front of the audience. He arrived in the Bow Valley with great expectations.
“I’ve had the fortune of living in the Bow Valley for over 40 years now,” Finnerty said. “My how time flies! Showed up at the Chateau Lake Louise with five bucks in my pocket on a Labour Day weekend…got a job in the dining room as a waiter that first day and as a consequence, had some money in my pocket, meals, and a room overlooking Lake Louise. A magical spot to be in and I haven’t really ventured very far from the valley since and very glad of it!”
After a few different contracts working in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary on films and stage-managing with Edmonton and Calgary Opera companies, Finnerty was offered a job with The Banff Centre’s Music and Sound Program.
